Ok, so it has been a really long time since I posted anything! Totsites was a pain, and it would make even the simpliest of tasks more difficult than necessary. So, Our old stuff from Totsites is still there, and will be until mid-January, but I will no longer be posting stuff there. This is much easier, and hopefully I will be able to post more frequently because it will be quicker!! We will see!
So, where to start on the updates!! So many things have been happening.
- Our most exciting news to date is that on Wednesday, September 24th we went to the doctor for our 20 week sonogram. After much poking and prodding and begging the baby to spread those legs a little, we finally learned that our precious growing baby is another boy!! Little girls just don't have parts like that!! :-) I initially wanted a little girl, but when you sit there and hear the doctor talk about how perfect and healthy everything looks with the baby, you can't help but be perfectly grateful with exactly what God has given you. So, the thought of 2 crazy little boys, 14 months apart is growing on me. Wesleigh is named after my dad, and 2 grandads, so we only thought it fair that the next little boy be named after Jim's side of the family, more specifically his dad. The baby's name will be Ethan Jack! For those of you who don't know, Jim's dad's name is Eddie Jack Pool, but he goes by Jack. So, not only will Ethan share the name Jack, he will share his G-Pa's initials as well...EJP.
- Our other crazy big news is that, if you haven't already heard, we are temporarily living in Carlsbad, NM. Jim had heard talk around the office about 3 weeks ago that his name was on the list to go to the Academy and teach Firearms. At that time, he was told that it would begin the end of October and would end the end of May. Well, that is still inconvinent, seeing as how we are having a baby in February. He fought it and fought it, but with no luck! So, we were coming, and while he was away on a search and rescue standby detail in Presidio, Texas, we found out that he was definately going, but it would be leaving the end of September!!!!!!!!!!! So, he had to fight his way home from Presidio, a mere 4 days before he was to leave home for 8 months! We had our sonogram, spent the next 2 days packing up, then we hit the road on Saturday. We rented a little Uhaul trailer to help get all our crap here. Wesleigh doesn't exactly travel light!!
- Wesleigh and I are in New Mexico right now, and will be probably until Monday, October 13th, then we will head toward Beeville. The plan is to leave Carlsbad, drive about 4 1/2 hours to San Angelo, and spend the night. We can make the rounds around San Angelo seeing all the grandparents and resting a bit. Then Wesleigh and I will make the rest of the trip from San Angelo to Beeville, which is about 5 1/2 hours. All in all, it is a long trip, but oh well! I will have my next OB appointment on October 22nd, then sometime after that, we will head back toward New Mexico, again through San Angelo. It is lots of traveling, but nothing about his is ideal, so we just have to deal!! We will keep this up until the end of December, then it would no longer be smart for me to travel this far away from San Antonio!!
- As far as what happens at the time of Ethan's arrival, your guess is as good as ours!!! Jim will get to come home for the birth (b/c the Family Fairness Act mandates it), but as far as how long he will be home, WHO KNOWS!!!! I will definately have my hands full with crazy little Wesleigh and a newborn, but thank goodness for my mom!! She will be a huge help! Jim and I are both hoping deep down that instead of finding a temporary replacement for him when the baby is born that they will just end his detail and we can go home to Del Rio as a family!!!
- This weekend we are traveling to San Angelo for a 60th Wedding Anniversary party for Grandaddy and Grandmommy and a combined birthday party for Guy and Jaedyn. Guy turned 8 on September 25th and Jaedyn will be 5 on October 15th.
I will try to take some pictures of our little old house, and of course some of our crazy little boy, but for now, this will have to do! Check back with us for more!!

Wow!! I thought my life was crazy, but I think you guys have beat us! I will be praying for you and little Wesleigh with all the long traveling you have ahead of you.
Goodness gracious Woman! You sure do know how to keep things interesting! I can't imagine. Way to go and roll with the changes. You are a strong gal and I know that you will handle it all well. I will be praying for comfort and peace while you are apart. Jim will certainly miss you like crazy and you him. You are welcome to come here to NV for a bit to break it up if you like. A flight here is short and pretty cheap. It would be so much fun to share some preggie time with you and get our kids together. We would have a really special time. Think about it and let us know. By the way I think Ethan Jack is one of the coolest names EVER! Congrats. Lots of love, Crystal
Gosh - you guys do get around!! There's quite a difference between GW, Del Rio and Carlsbad!! Good going with the super quick move to Carlsbad - you two are super organized thats for sure. We are sure you'll cope with all your new experiences admirably. Be careful on the roads and we sure hope to get to see you all over the upcoming holidays! Hugs and kisses to Wesleigh from us both!
