WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!

Well, as most of you know, we have been waiting and waiting and waiting on the government!! I know....such a shocker!! In some ways, we spend our whole lives waiting on the government in one way or another.

But, we finally got our answer today!! Jim's last day of work at the Academy will be Friday, January, 30th, and he will travel home on January 31st!!! WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! We are glad to finally have a count down day to getting him out of here!! This means that we can be flexible with the induction date. I will proabably still stay at my mom's house b/c she is after all an hour and a half closer to the hospital than we are at home, and I wouldn't need to be traveling anyway, but at least we will be in the same state!!!

Our Quiet Little Christmas Day

Well, this should finally be the end of the Christmas posts. It has taken me forever to get to it, but here it is...

Due to Jim's lovely schedule, we were here in New Mexico, just the three of us (sorry Ethan, 4 of us)!! We slept in, or at least I did!! Since Santa had brought Elmo Live earlier in the week when Guy and Jaedyn were visiting, we didn't have any Santa suprises that morning.

Jim and I had our gifts for each other, and we had saved back one of Wesleigh's presents from us so he would have something to open as well.
Wesleigh tore into his package, and was happy to find a little basketball goal. He loves it! He quickly got the hang of making baskets and when you make a "slam dunk" it cheers for you!! He has enjoyed it very much. He was also very stylish in his Christmas PJ's that Nana bought for him. They were silk and VERY slippery when the little guy got to wiggling!!!

I was next, I had been eyeing my gift for a long time. It looked exactly like a box of checks....Well, it wasn't a box of checks, it was a Jawbone. That is a bluetooth headset to use with my cell phone. We have had bluetooths since we were dating, but they have been far from perfect, and somewhere along the way, I actually stopped using mine!! So, this is the top of the line technology and it seems to work beautifully!! God knows I am going to need every hand I can find here in another month or so!!

Last but not least, Jim opened his and was beyond pleased to find a Garmin GPS!! He hasn't stopped playing with that silly thing!! It is pretty high tech and will be nice when traveling. I was able to find a really great deal on it, and because I waited about a week to buy it, I was able to get a much upgraded version for the same price that I was going to pay for a lesser version!! Funny thing...they were both at WalMart.com. It's fair to say that it was a huge hit!!

We spent most of the day in our pajamas, had a nice dinner, and just enjoyed a lazy, quiet Christmas day with our boy!!

Poor Elmo Has a Bully
Ok, so Elmo Live is a hoot. If you haven't played with one, you should! We laugh at Elmo everyday! He tells stories and jokes and is just overall very very silly. When Elmo falls over he says "Uh Oh, Elmo fell down, can you help Elmo up Please??" Then when you pick him up he says "Thank you, You're Elmos' Best Friend"! Well, Elmo can be right in the middle of a story or a joke or something and Wesleigh (a.k.a. Elmo's Bully) pushes him down. It is hilarous. I guess they have a love hate relationship!! Sweet ol' Elmo continues to tell him he is his best friend every single time...someone needs to tell Elmo that he doesn't need enemies if his best friend is such a bully!

Beeville Christmas

Last weekend was incredibly busy with Christmas party after Christmas party after Christmas party. By Sunday night, we were all exhausted, but Wesleigh and I had to get up first thing Monday morning and drive the 8 1/2 hours back to Carlsbad.

I don't have any pictures of our Port Lavaca Christmas Party with my mom's side of the family, because I was a big bozo and just took my camera and not the camera bag...well the battery had little to no life left and the fully charged spare battery was tucked away in my camera bag in Beeville!!!
However, we did have some great times before we headed back.

Nana and Grandpa gave Baileigh, Dakota, and Kaylee a basketball goal for Christmas. Dakota was just helping them put the finishing touches on it!!

So Handsome...

Cute little butts...

These two kids adore each other....for Dakota, it has been from the beginning, for Wesleigh it has been an aquired love. He used to be scared to death of Dakota because she is just a very loud child. She would get in his face and get very excited and get really really loud and scare the crap out of Wesleigh. It has only been within the past few months that he has learned to adore her as well. She calls him her "wessy" and likes to know where he is at all times.

Early Carlsbad Christmas

Well, as I know I have mentioned before...we had the most perfect Christmas planned out, prior to the governement changing our plans. Everyone had to adjust a bit in order to accomodate Jim's work schedule. Gran and G-Pa really adjusted their plans and brought Guy and Jaedyn out to Carlsbad on Friday night, and stayed until Tuesday. Jim enjoyed every minute of spending time with the family. Of course, Wesleigh and I were still in Beeville, for our crazy busy Christmas weekend, but we drove the 8 1/2 hour drive on Monday, so that we could celebrate Christmas with Guy and Jaedyn and with Gran, G-Pa, and Caleb.
I was beyond exhausted, but we had a great Christmas anyway. Wesleigh got his very own chair that he totally loves. Guy and Jaedyn got a Wii, some luggage, and various other exciting toys. Ethan even got a few presents of his own. Jaedyn helped to open a package of Newborn diapers that Gran and G-Pa got for him. I forgot how tiny those diapers are!! I got a new purse and some accessories to go with it as well as some decor for the house. Jim and I also got some games for the new Wii!! Jim also opened his gift from my parents that evening, and was thrilled with his Ipod...now, maybe he will leave mine alone!!

Jim and I are both very grateful for everything we recieved, but most of all for Gran and G-Pa making the trip to Carlsbad so that we could have Christmas as a family. Thanks so much!!

This is a dart gun that Guy got that him and Caleb really really enjoyed!!

Christmas Picture Comedy....

This is going to be one of a few posts to come in the next day or so...
Last year my family came to our house in Del Rio for Christmas because Wesleigh was just a few weeks old and I wasn't yet up for traveling. Mom wanted a Christmas picture with all the grandkids. The ones that were there anyway. She bought them all little Christmas outfits, and starting about 10 am, we got them dressed for the pictures, then one thing lead to another, and we didn't actually get all children to cooperate for the picture until about 5 pm, but the picture turned out perfect!!! This is last year's christmas picture, minus Dylan.

So, this year my mom wanted to do it again. We were minus Guy and Jaedyn this year, but we had Dylan and Kaylee (Brad's girlfriend's little girl), so we would just have six kids to worry about. You would think with everyone being a year older it would have been a little easier!!! Hahahahahaha!! Yea Right!!

I don't know that we got a single "great" picture, but all of them put together and you have quiet the comic strip!!!

They are all priceless and adorable!! It seems the little blonde boy in the middle on the bottom row causes a lot of trouble...but the two cuties on either side of him (Dakota on the left and Serena with the pink shoes on the right).

They were all adorable, and I guess eventually we will pick the best one and go with it!! Just think...by this time next year my parents will have 10 grandkids....next year's Christmas picture adventures may be even more exciting!!!! :-)
